it's begging to be said, really.

saw Hidalgo and i really liked it. can't help but think, though, if whoever wrote it also wanted to say something about america and arabics.

here comes an american on arabic soil, and he's obviously not wanted there by these people--with lives, religion and a culture of their own--who call him "infidel". his entry into this somewhat sacred race is an affront to the honor of his arabic competitors.

of course, the american wins and these muslims were somewhat portrayed as warriors with a religion and culture that can afford to be modified/changed. the warrior tag is fine because, well, they are. but the message that their traditions can be somewhat changed through the "enlightenment" of someone from the wild west... tsk tsk.

and of course, the american wins. or did i say that already?

nice to see omar shariff, though. can't get any lustier and macho-er than omar shariff :D it's refreshing, too, to see viggo drop the "mystical elvenness" and "noble warrior" aragorn to say "howdy pardner?" and "nobody hurts my horse", and even give a nice, good ol' "yee-haw" from time to time :D and the horse is just adorable!

watch it. watch it. but let the issues slide.

speaking of animals, went to manila zoo again last friday to do a last minute coverage.

its sad, though, how the zoo never seems to actually improve. sure, they erect new picnic grounds, etc. here and there but its not getting any better for the animals themselves. their man-made habitats are unclean, rusty and ALL CONCRETE %$#@*

its really sad. parang gusto kong mag-resign and actually do something about this.

i mean, i love animals and i sincerely wish they'd be the priority of a goddamn ZOO.

I still cannot believe that clovy's married :) not because she never seemed to want to. it was something i thought she would eventually do, but not when she did :)

nagulat lang ako. she always seemed to enjoy dating around and meeting people. Akala ko andun pa siya sa stage na inaalam niya pa kung ano yung gusto niya, at nageenjoy muna in the process. I guess when you meet the one, it's the one :) that's kinda comforting :)
